Young Ballerz Basketball Celebrates 5 Years!

This month marks a very special milestone for Young Ballerz Basketball – we are celebrating five years!

When we look at what Young Ballerz Basketball has become today, it is sometimes difficult to believe that the whole journey started with something incredibly simple: our son wanted to play basketball with other children.

We wanted to create somewhere he could enjoy the sport, meet other children and develop his basketball skills. From those early sessions, Young Ballerz Basketball has grown into something far bigger than we could have imagined.

Today, over 750 children take part in Young Ballerz Basketball sessions every week, and we're only just getting started.

Creating More Opportunities for Children to Play Basketball

From day one, our aim has been to make basketball accessible.

Not every child wants to play football, rugby or some of the other sports traditionally offered to children across the UK. For some, basketball can provide the alternative they have been looking for.

It's fast, exciting and social, while helping children develop coordination, fitness, teamwork and confidence.

Most importantly, children don't need to arrive at Young Ballerz already knowing how to play.

Our grassroots basketball sessions are designed to introduce children to the game in a fun and welcoming environment, giving beginners somewhere to start while providing opportunities for players to continue developing as their confidence and ability grow.

Five years on, seeing hundreds of children picking up a basketball every week remains one of the things we're most proud of.

From One Location to a Growing Basketball Community

What started as a small idea has developed into a growing network of children's basketball classes, coaches, families and communities.

As Young Ballerz has grown, we've worked hard to create a structure that can be replicated while maintaining what made the original sessions successful.

The goal has never been simply to become bigger for the sake of it.

We want to bring grassroots basketball to more communities across the UK, giving children the opportunity to play basketball close to where they live.

That's where the next chapter of Young Ballerz begins.

Growing Young Ballerz Through Franchising

Our plans for the coming years are ambitious.

Through the Young Ballerz Basketball franchise model, we're looking for passionate people who want to build their own basketball business while becoming part of the continued growth of the Young Ballerz brand.

Rather than starting from scratch, our franchisees receive the structure, systems, training and ongoing support that we've developed through years of running Young Ballerz ourselves.

It's an opportunity for coaches, basketball enthusiasts, parents, teachers, sports professionals and business-minded individuals to take their passion for sport and turn it into something of their own.

You don't necessarily need to have run a business before. We're looking for the right people who share our belief in what grassroots sport can offer children and who want to bring Young Ballerz Basketball to their local community.

The Next Five Years

Reaching our fifth birthday gives us a chance to look back, but we're even more excited about what comes next.

We want to introduce thousands more children to basketball. We want to open Young Ballerz sessions in new towns and communities. We want to continue developing our coaches, our sessions and the opportunities available to the children who walk through our doors.

And we want Young Ballerz to continue playing its part in the growth of grassroots basketball in the UK.

From one child asking if he could play basketball with some other children to more than 750 children playing every week – it's been quite a journey.

To every parent who has brought their child along, every coach who has stepped onto court, every school and venue that has supported us, every franchisee who has joined the journey and, most importantly, every Young Baller who has picked up a basketball with us:
